Sorry we haven't been around. I've been working on this show non stop for the last two months:
Sing Me Back Home
I've been editing, printing, trimming, stenciling, and stapling non stop. Two band aids. 80 copies are spoken for, and this is what we've got left:
I'm so glad it's almost over. Come to the show and pick up a copy. Please relieve this neurosis by taking all these copies off my hands

Sorry Y'all!
WE'RE SORRY Y'ALL from Johnny Hanna on Vimeo.
From Wess -
Me and several others are in the process of putting together a memorial show for Tripp. We originally wanted to have it on his birthday - May 26 - but due to a number of conflicting schedules we couldn't. Since it's more important to have everyone involved who wants to be we've pushed it back to (what will most likely be) June 18.
The basic ...skimmy -
It's going to take place at Woodrow Hall. We're looking at potentially having a number of bands play (confirmation pending on some) - Central Fires, Legion, Granddaddy Ghostlegs, The Corndog, Them Natives, Black Hole Kids, Pony Bones, and Hurricanes of Love. We're asking all bands playing to cover at least one song of a band Tripp loved (I.E. Black Hole Kids is going to cover The Murder City Devils).
Additionally we're going to have time allotted for anyone to tell stories, give eulogies, or say what they will about Tripp. Katie Dunne is putting together a zine of Tripp's prose and poetry to distribute. Likewise Ian Wise is making a compilation of all the music Tripp recorded. A lot of people have expressed a desire to bring photos / artwork inspired by Tripp as well. Jennifer Toole has volunteered to coordinate that effort.
The show will be free but we'll be taking donations for a yet to be determined relevant charity in Tripp's name.
If you have anything to contribute e-mail us:
wess - wessgregg [at] gmail [dot] com - show organizing / bands
Katie - dunne.katherine [at] gmail [dot] - collecting Tripp's written work
Ian - bagofcliches [at] gmail [dot] com - collecting Tripp's recorded work
Jenn - jennlove [at] earthlink [ dot] net - coordinating photos / art relating to Tripp
Spread the word. Lets send Rick off right.
Ian and I are working on setting up a kickstarter account so those who can't be there can donate to the project. I'm also setting up a mailorder list for those who are out of state but still want a copy of the zine/tape split.

Sing Me Back Home
The last weekend of February my exboyfriend/very close friend passed away. It's also Townes Van Zandt's birthday today. Tripp introduced me to all three of these artists. He typically told me all the music I listened to was gay, even though we would spend, on his cue, maybe an hour a week doing deeply reverent Morrissey impressions/ lip synch sessions. Also he loved Depeche Mode. So fuck you Tripp you are gay.
