Ward compiled 14 songs from all over the world for a vinyl LP Excavated Shellac: Strings released by Dust to Digital, a record label in Atlanta, GA. The liner notes alone are reason enough to drop money on this

Analog Africa

Another great resource for obscure world music. These compilations are always presented along side liner notes in the form of books. These guys do extensive research that is utterly mind blowing. For instance, African Scream Contest is a Double LP with a 44 page book including interviews with artists and producers.
